The Hall of Grace is set to induct Governors Raji
Fashola of Lagos State, Gabriel Suswam (Benue),
Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo) and Abdulfatah Ahmed
(Kwara)-who are all past recipients of its awards of
excellence.
The decoration, according to its custodian and
publisher of HOG Magazine, Mr. Rupert Ojenuwa, is
to celebrate patriotism and hardwork once in every
four years.
“The HOG award celebrates patriotism and hardwork.
The induction ceremony is quite unique in the sense
that it is a celebration of hardwork, commitment and
dedication to excellence in public service and in
selfless service to humanity as has been profoundly
displayed by the inductees.
“We are inducting all our past awardees into the HOG
hall of fame during this event in September.”
Top on the list of the past awardees to be inducted
by a former Head of State, General Abdulsalam
Abubakar, are Fashola (2011), Suswam, (2012),
Mimiko (2013) and Ahmed (2014).
“There is also the pride of Africa award which covers
a wider scope. And which is rare because of the fact
that we have to do a lot of research and findings
before we can get a nominee.
“And so, since the inception of the HOG awards, we
have only given the pride of Africa award to only one
individual, and that eminent person is Alhaji Aliko
Dangote,” Ojenuwa added.
Other awardees of the HOG awards include Ben
Bruce of Silverbird Group; Babatunde Fowler,
Chairman/ CEO of Lagos State Internal Revenue
Service; Pst. Ituah Ighodalo, Nnamdi Ezeigbo,
Chairman/CEO of Slot group; Firstlady of Lagos,
Dame Emmanuella Fashola, Kenny Ogungbe and
Dayo Adeneye both of Primetime Africa; Prince
Akintunde Ayeni, Mike Ezeruonye, Chika Ike and
others.
