One armed robbery suspect was arrested on
Wednesday by the police at Akwukwu-Igbo in
Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta
State.
According to a police statement made available to
the press in Asaba on Wednesday, a police patrol
team led by a DPO while on patrol along Atuma/
Otulu road flashed down three persons on a
motorcycle, who stopped and jumped into the
bush.
“Consequently, the policemen pursued them and
arrested one Christian Ituma of Ogbe-Uku
quarters, Issele-Azagba.
“Items recovered from him include two locally
made cut to size guns, four live cartridges and
one unregistered Qlink motorcycles. Meanwhile,
investigation and manhunt for the fleeing
suspects are in progress,” the statement signed
by the Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina
Kalu said.
In another case, Kalu said detectives from the
Abraka Police Station on Tuesday acting on a tip-
off raided a painter’s workshop belonging to one
Akposere Philip of No. 363, Agbor/Sapele road,
Abraka and recovered one Honda Accord S/
Wagon with Reg. No. (EDO) BEN 994 RF.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the
said Honda Accord was snatched at gun point
from its owner on July 27 at Ikpoba Hill Benin in
Edo state.
“Two other suspected stolen vehicles under
refurbishment were equally recovered from the
workshop. The said Akposere Philip has been
arrested and he is undergoing investigation,” she
said
